The Duck Store
In 1989, at the request of the University of Oregon, the UO Bookstore began to expand its retail operation. The bookstore and the university were considering renting a space in Portland to provide our big city neighbors with a taste of the university. For the bookstore, this would be a space where UO alumni could buy university-related merchandise, sports wear, and gifts conveniently from their home in Portland.
The new Duck Store was located on the bottom floor of the University of Oregon Portland Center, in the center of downtown. The Duck Store provided a little bit of Eugene amidst the busy Portland landscape. The store flourished and became a huge success with Portland Duck fans. A few years after the Portland Duck Store opening, it was apparent that they needed more than the small space provided and the store underwent a significant remodel.
Our dedicated team members have a passion for the University of Oregon and make customers, future Ducks, and alumni feel as though they are right at home with the rest of the Ducks in Eugene.
